The Chicago Women’s Golf Club (CWGC) is proud to be the oldest African American women’s 18-hole golf club in the Midwest. Since 1937, we have remained a vital force in the game—uplifting women, preserving history, and building community through golf.

We are proudly affiliated with the United States Golf Association (USGA), the United Golfers Association (UGA), the Midwest Golf Association (MGA), and the Northern Illinois Women’s Golf Association (NIWGA).

The President’s Mission Statement

The Chicago Women's Golf Club (CWGC) is a vibrant, intergenerational community dedicated to nurturing a lifelong love for golf among women of all ages and backgrounds. We are proud to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and empowering space where members come together not only to play — but to lead, grow, and inspire.

Rooted in a legacy of excellence and sisterhood, CWGC continues to champion personal growth, mentorship, and the advancement of women in golf and beyond. Through innovative programs, competitive play, and meaningful service, we uphold the values that have shaped our club for over eight decades.

Our mission is brought to life through these core commitments:

  • We provide structured clinics, workshops, and league play designed for all skill levels — from beginners to seasoned golfers. Members are encouraged to grow their game and step into leadership roles, while seasoned players mentor and guide newer members, creating a powerful cycle of growth and support.

  • Beyond the fairway, CWGC is a sisterhood. We foster strong interpersonal bonds through regular outings, social gatherings, and shared experiences that strengthen the ties between members and promote a spirit of unity.

  • CWGC holds itself to the highest standards of sportsmanship. Our members embody grace, humility, and fairness on and off the course, modeling the values of mutual respect and ethical play in every interaction.

  • We believe golf is not just a sport, but a tool for building confidence, focus, and resilience. Through encouragement, recognition, and goal setting, we empower our members to strive for personal excellence and discover their full potential.

  • CWGC is committed to making a difference in the broader community. We support charitable causes, host fundraising tournaments, and lead outreach efforts to promote golf among youth and underserved groups — ensuring the game we love is accessible and impactful.
